DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
The messages that the Gorman-Redlich EAS unit receive and forward are encoded in GMT (UCT-Universal coordinated time) and the unit will operate normally even if the display incorrectly displays standard time for a couple of weeks a year. Also, during this short interval, the log printout will incorrectly be labeled standard time. The EAS unit converts the UCT time to the local time. In short, do nothing, your unit will operate as it is supposed to. If you change the time on the front panel display, this will affect the UCT time and messages will not be forward at the correct time.
The changes in date of the start and stop of DST may only be temporary. Congress has reserved the right to revert back to the “old DST” time. If the changes in DST are permanent, we will post something on the website to correct the time change.
