Rear Panel Description
Perfect for LPTV broadcasters with multiple digital channels, this unit gives you the ability to have up to six character generators when used in conjunction with the EAS1-CG or new EAS1-CG/2. The external CG panel is available in configurations with either two or four additional character generators.
Connection to the Gorman-Redlich is simple and accomplished via RS232 serial cables and audio connections. Video is looped through the unit via BNC connections. The CGs loop analog video and will interrupt stereo audio during an alert. The audio level may be adjusted on each channel so that the correct modulation can be set on a per-channel basis.
Should any channel lose video input, the unit will automatically display a trouble page alerting you to the problem. At the top of the hour, all CGs will crawl the unique station ID for the channel being looped through that CG. There is no ambiguity about complying with FCC EAS requirements; you will be in full compliance.
